TAFE SA & Acler offering
Indigenous Scholarship & Mentoring
TAFE SA and Acler have combined to offer an opportunity for a talented Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to undertake a course in Fashion at TAFE SA and be mentored by the Acler team. The Indigenous scholarships program will commence in February 2023.
The value of the scholarship and the duration will vary depending on whether the successful candidate chooses to study the Certificate III in Fashion or the Advanced Diploma of Fashion. See both course programs here.
The scholarship is specifically for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who either have the desire and passion to work within the exciting fast paced world of Fashion Design or are emerging designers in the creative field of fashion design and fashion product development.
Acler, founded by Kathryn Forth and Julia Ritorto, is a successful Adelaide Fashion house developing beautifully designed garments for the Australian and overseas market.
Acler’s design process heroes the tactile. Four collections are released each year and every single garment is draped in three-dimensional form, taking shape over a 12-month period. This is ultimately what sets Acler apart from its contemporaries, with a rebellion away from digital design to bring movement, toile, couture techniques, and hand draping back to the forefront of garment creation.
Information sessions that will include how to apply will be held on Thursday November 3 at 4.30pm and 6.30pm, TAFE SA Adelaide City Campus, Fashion program, Level G, sector D, room DG09.
Deadline for Applications & Expressions of Interest: Friday 11th November 2022
Interviews will take place between: 14th -18th November
