Looking for a treat of a different kind for your Mum for Mother’s Day?

It wouldn’t be hard to guess that, like us, you’re probably still working out what to do or buy your Mum for Mother’s Day. Okay, so maybe you have a few ideas, but with Mother’s day looming in just a few days, we bet you’re looking for something a bit novel this time?  We hear ya sistas!

Always ones to do things a bit differently, we’ve cast our eyes over a few of the options available. Movies, high tea, fashion parades, luncheons. All are do-able, right? We’ve settled on do-able with a difference.  We’re putting some dynamic women friends and mums, in front of some more dynamic women to hear their stories and celebrate the contributions made by women to the city of Adelaide.  The event we’re going to is called  The City of Adelaide’s Women: Our Past, Present and Future.

The event is hosted by the Lady Mayoress, one of Adelaide’s most dynamic women who previously forged a successful and high profile  career in the world of international advertising.  Event speakers promise to share some interesting insights about their experiences and their contributions to Adelaide.  They include Amanda Grocock, the youngest General Manager of the Rundle Mall Management Authority, and Nicole Halsey, Director of Urban and Regional Planning Solutions which has overseen some of the most exciting developments in Adelaide in the last few years.

This is seriously good stuff.   It’s such a cool event for women that some of us attending aren’t even mothers. We’re taking a table of 10. We’d love to see you there.  It promises to be a top event and won’t chew up your entire day, as it’s a high- tea from 9.30-11am, Thursday May 5. Venue’s the Town Hall  which is being especially decorated for the event and proceeds go to charity!  Tickets are available here.

Seriously, to Adelaidians and any friends, fans or followers who are in Adelaide this week, we’d love to meet up with you. Come say hi to us at this event!
