The Victorians are turning it on this weekend as they welcome people back to the city for the start of winter. Events in Melbourne this weekend feature the city’s famous laneways as the drawcard for a winter themed experience to attract both locals and tourists alike.
Howey Place, between Little Collins and Collins Streets, lined with designer and retail outlets, is preparing special offers to entice shoppers to it’s winter wonderland theme for the weekend. Free hot-chocolate and cannolis in cosy seating areas will be on offer on Friday night and Saturday lunchtime, (1-3pm). Not to miss, local traders will be giving away free gift bags until they run out. Special promotions and discounts will be available at many of the retail outlets.
Over at the Docklands, there’ll be a host of market stalls set up with all manner of artisan products on offer along with hot food and drink. The market atmosphere will create a much looked-forward-to bustle in Melbourne’s west.
Events in Melbourne always include something different to do in the Bourke Street Mall, and this time, it lines up with the city’s winter wonderland theme. The Mall has set up an Igloo lounge that will offer fun photos and free winter treats are available between 10 and 12 from the Bread Club on Friday, Glacé Dessert on Saturday and Koko Black on Sunday.
