Spring Street Style

Step Into Spring

There’s nothing quite like entering a new season to get everone lusting after new pieces and excited about fresh ways to style our old ones. Spring has officially sprung, and we’re soaking up outfit inspiration from here and afar. From new season staples to trans-seasonal styling choices, here’s a roundup of some standout Spring street style.

Short Suits

Not ready to end your love affair with blazers and suited up style as the weather warms up? Enter, the short suit. An oversize blazer will keep you suitably cosy for spring and still keep the overall look chic, regardless of what kind of shorts you wear. If you’re looking to give the divisive cycling short trend a go, this might be the safest way to do so.

If you’re still thawing out after months of cold, quirky layering choices might ease you into spring dressing.  A simple smock or slip dress worn over flared trousers creates an interesting silhouette and strong look.

With so many ways to style the midi skirt, this piece is earning its status as a new season staple. Sleek midis in particular are stealing the street style show, whether paired with a simple tee or peeking out from under an oversized knit.

Loud Shirts

The colour-loving fashion set is busting out of their acid bright puffer jackets and into the warm weather equivalent – the loud shirt. Time to steal that Hawaiin shirt you’ve been giving your dad grief about for years.

Spring layering isn’t just about adapting to the weather. Shaking off the heavier materials leaves so much more room for playing with the corset craze. Styling possibilities are endless with this shapely trend.

Local Radar

It’s finally starting to look like spring on the local scene, with street stylers reaching for brighter hues and ditching the heavy outerwear. Denim jackets of all washes are coming out to play.

Describe your style in three words: eclectic, eccentric and fresh

Trend you can’t stop spotting? The Wild West! Cowboy boots, colours, the denim, all of it is everywhere this season and I bloody love it!

Any trend predictions for the Spring? Ganni and Saks Potts just showed in Copenhagen dripping the runway with colours in somewhat relaxed styles. I’m excited for fashion to move away from the Hype Beast streetwear and back to relaxed, stylish and chic!

Style tip for trans-seasonal weather? Layering is your absolute best friend, I love wearing slip dressing with an oversized sweater and some chunky platform sneakers keeping to my signature feminine meets tomboy style.
