We’re watching what street stylers are wearing overseas and looking at what our local fashionistas are up to as well. Changing street style colour trends seem to pop at the moment. And with Chinese New Year celebrations in full swing this week, its no wonder everyone’s seeing red.
Here are this weeks street style colour trends and more.
International Street Style Moment…
A fitting welcome to Chinese new year and easily the colour we’ve seen rocked head to toe more than any other this season, red demands attention – and we have no qualms about granting it. These street stylers have taken our top pick for making a statement in red and pulling off matching eye makeup to boot.
Goodbye millennial pink, hello lovely lilac! While pastels have been trending, lavender and lilac in particular were standouts during London Fashion Week. We aren’t surprised – Ultra Violet took out Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2018 after all.
2017 already heralded the surprising return of the bum bag, but now they’re being worn with a twist. Fashion’s elite are wearing bum bags as they would a shoulder bag, or even high up on the chest.
We’re spotting less and less of the super skinny-leg silhouette once so popular on the streets. With the rise of athleisure wear and a return to basics, relaxed styles – particularly the wide leg trouser – have continued to gain momentum on the local street scene. Comfort and style is not an impossibility.
