More street style highlights from Fashion Week Australia…
Isn’t it amazing how much more memorable a runway show can be when there’s a bit of the spectacular built into it? While many designers are concerned to let their designs speak for themselves, and many do successfully, when there’s so much on offer, just the right amount of spectacle could help.
Maybe it’s for this reason that venues for some of the runway shows have been as spectacular as the fashions themselves. The Cutaway – chosen by Maticevski, The Bloomberg Building – chosen by Dion Lee, Bradfield Plaza (under the Sydney Harbour Bridge at Milson’s Point) – chosen by Manning Cartell and the Carthona building at Darling Point- chosen by Romance was Born, have so far offered the most amazing settings to showcase Designer offerings. Conversations back at fashion central- the Carriageworks building in Eveleigh – have tended to be about these runway shows and designs. At very least, you can expect that the many overseas buyers can easily recollect the designs from these showcases out of the many shows they’ve seen.
Back at venue central – Carriageworks – we’ve been kept busy snapping the fashions and individual styling of people attending. These can be amazingly stylish and amazing spectacular. We have to admit that not every amazing outfit worn by people attending is worn at Carriageworks, many are worn to the off-site runways. But it’s at Carriageworks where the fashionistas are congregating. And that’s where our snaps are mostly coming from. We haven’t been disappointed. Here’s what we snapped from Fashion Week Day 3, highlights. Enjoy!
Don’t forget that our newest street style fashion gallery is out today too. It’s featuring fashionistas attending Fashion Week and all the snaps are taken around Carriageworks. And, you can vote for your favourite style-fash look. Photos: Dimitra Koriozos
