For those of us NOT in lockdown, South Australia is firming up its position as the country’s leader in the food and beverage stakes, and there are over 40 events to choose from this winter! Check out the newest Winter events for Tasting Australia 2021!

Serafino, McLaren Vale
Inverno con Serafino
Friday 2 July, 6pm onwards

First Nations Fashion Design

It’s winter in the Italian alps – but with a distinctly local twist. Make your way to Serafino McLaren Vale for traditional Mediterranean dishes prepared by head chef Alberto Occhipinti. The best seasonal Fleurieu Peninsula produce will feature in each of the event’s four courses, with dishes to be paired with alternative wine varieties from the Serafino Premium and Bellissimo range.

Sunday July 4, 1pm onwards

‘Garam masala’ discover the spices used in winter with a warming Sunday lunch with Adelaide spice queen Ragini Dey. This four-course Winter Series event will be held at Ragini’s Spicery on Hutt Street. All ingredients are sourced from local suppliers – among them the Dairyman, Najobe beef, Zara Grace lamb and Woodside Cheese.

Tin Shed Long Lunch at the Kensi
Sunday July 4, 1pm onwards

Exclusively for this Winter Series event – you’re invited to enjoy selections from the Barossa label at a beloved Adelaide pub. Join Tin Shed owner Claire Doughty and head winemaker Peter Clarke at the Kensi to learn about the label’s journey so far and its focus on minimal intervention but loads of attention. Your relaxed Sunday afternoon will feature a four-course winter menu created by Kensi’s head chef that features SA local produce. Prizes will be on offer throughout the afternoon, with guests also able to purchase Tin Shed Wines at great prices on the day.

First Nations Fashion Design

Join celebrated Adelaide chef Kane Pollard at the spectacular Sol Restaurant as he illuminates ingredients’ underappreciated elements. Hear from leading South Australian industry figures and explore new ways to cook with plants and protein as you enjoy this six-course, long-table dinner and information session.

Koomo X Hentley Farm Dinner Experience
Wednesday 7 July, 6pm onwards

First Nations Fashion Design

Join Hentley Farm owner, Keith Hentschke and Executive Chef, Patrick Chung, from Koomo Restaurant as they take you on a journey from the farm to the clouds.

This 5-course dinner experience will showcase a tailored Koomo Asian inspired menu paired with exceptional wines by Hentley Farm. Be welcomed by a glass of Champagne and a fresh oyster shucking station from Samtass Bros Seafoods.

Waste Not, Want Not
Wednesday 7 July, from 12pm & 4pm

First Nations Fashion Design

In Waste Not, Want Not, the day’s catch will guide your menu. You will see just how easy and beneficial it is to use the whole fish plus how to cook with species you may not have encountered before. You’ll learn tips and tricks for working with the season’s best and for getting more out of your seafood purchases. A seven-course lunch or dinner is also included in this event.
