VAMFF 2020 – Street Style at the Plaza
Despite it not all going to plan, with VAMFF 2020 ending prematurely because of the Corona Virus, there were plenty of head-turning street style moments to capture! And while we’d like to be able to change it from COVID-19 back to the days of Cov-fefe (remember that?), looks like we’re stuck with this thing for a whole lot longer than any of us would care to choose.
The sad news is that this may well be the only street style that we’ll be able to bring you this year from the big Aussie fashion events. Held every year in May, Sydney’s industry showcase, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, has been cancelled. On the positive side, there’s an opportunity now to take stock and reassess the value and model of these big events to come up with a new-century re-fit. After all, the current version of such events actually started last century!
In the meantime, the street stylers continued to come out to play. Some stalwarts were missing from this year’s lineup. But there were also some new fresh faces of style and fashion appearing too!
All the action took place in front of the many facades of the Royal Exhibition Building, with a new focal point for meet-ups and socialising. The VAMFF team went to great pains to reinvent and revamp The Plaza area and it worked!
Here’s our gallery of the best street style we spotted during the 3 days of runways from VAMFF last week. Spot yerself, or your faves. Or simply get inspired!
Watch out for additional street style surprises we’ll be uploading via Instagram and Facebook.
