On our quest to find the best vegan eats for brekkie and lunch in Adelaide, we found some pretty incredible dinner, snack and take away joints as well!

Sonny’s Pizza Bar

Arguably serving up Adelaide’s best vegan pizzas in the eastern suburbs, Sonny’ serve all kinds of pizzas for meat eaters and vegans alike. Amazingly, they make their OWN mozzarella, salami and other “meats” that are totally animal-free.  They use their own vegan-meat to top their delicious vegan pizzas from “lamb” yiros pizza to their classic margherita. Even their cheesy vegan garlic bread has their signature oozing, stringy melted cheese. They also offer homemade lasagnas, pastas and seitan schnitzel parmigiana!

Hidden in Adelaide’s western suburbs, this Vietnamese restaurant is a favourite of Adelaide vegans.  Their 100% vegan menu says it all. While they have an extensive menu full of “meat”, “seafood”, and veggies, their extensive vegan menu is unrivalled compared to other Asian restaurants. From “beef” sizzling plates to “pork” bao buns, their options for entrees, salads, stir fries, noodles, rice dishes, cold rolls, mains and desserts will have you coming back to try something new each time!

A favourite amongst the many restaurants on Glen Osmond Road, Hispanic Mechanic is another great locale where your meat-eater mates and you can coexist in harmony. They might even want some of your food when it comes out, considering Hispanic Mechanic has a dedicated plant based kitchen for their vegan menu! The KFC taco is an absolute must-try and don’t forget, the mushroom enchiladas!

Staazi and Co, the Greek Vegan Project, has got to be one of the top vegan joints in Adelaide especially when it comes to offering up the classic Greek fast food of yiros and AB! Alongside their signature lamb, they offer “chicken” and sometimes “prawn” yiros, and their Greek vegan desserts always hit the spot.

Going on 12 years since they first opened their vegetarian and vegan shop in Adelaide, Let Them Eat has been able to expand their incredible goods and snacks into all corners of the metro area. Offering amazing salads, patties and burgers, tarts and fritters, lasagnas and moussaka, sweet treats and delicious coffees and juices, Let Them Eat is also opening the first fully plant based delicatessen in the Adelaide Central Market!

Lord of the Fries has popped up across Australia, and their Adelaide store situated on Hindley Street is the perfect way for vegans to get their post-clubbing eats without compromise. From American style burgers and hot dogs, to drool-worthy HSPs and a range of fries that will have you wanting them all, along with their vegan shakes and icecreams – oh and did we mention the breakfast menu? Your egg and bacon muffin cravings are sorted.

You’re sure to spend plenty when visiting Cherry Darlings because it’s so damn hard to pick just one thing to take home! With their amazing plant based pies that range from KFC style “chicken” to cheeseburger, your pie and pastry cravings will go on an adventure here. Not to mention their huge range of vegan desserts including vanilla slices, covered donuts, cupcakes and muffins, croissants, cheesecakes and brownies, the list goes on! Be sure to visit this place sometime soon, I know I will be.

You’ll go nuts for these donuts! Offering some incredibly fresh and tasty hot donuts, there really is nothing better than a hot cinnamon donut from the fryer – but OMG Donuts can give you more than just cinnamon. They have at least 10-12 different powders on rotation that can range from an apple pie taste to a tangy lemon, or a berry sour flavour to chocolate and coffee! Their sugar-covered donuts are also gluten free and fully vegan! Try one… or six, talking from experience.
