We are def seeing more of an autumn/winter look out on our Aussie streets again this week, from layers and outerwear to a cooler, darker colour palette. Overseas, things were looking edgy and delightfully rose-tinted. Here’s what we’re seeing as the current autumn trends this week on the street.
Bralettes and crop tops visible under vests and sheers was so this summer and now the cooler weather’s arrived it’s not gonna stop us showing them off. The autumn look? Worn as outerwear over longer sleeves and layers.
Coats and jackets are everywhere at this time of year and there’s plenty of styles being worn ATM. Last week we picked out the biker and the trench, this week we’re seeing a lot of longer lightweight maxi style designs.
Grey (combined with black and white) is dominating our wardrobes this week, no 50 shades pun intended. From jackets to pants the look is conservative but undeniably chic, and the tints of choice are light and silvery.
While skinnies aren’t going anywhere fast, the wide leg pant trend we’ve been seeing overseas also continues to be a popular below-the-waist choice over here – from roomy suit bottoms to loose-floaty crops.
Nothing beats a bit of facial furniture to set off an outfit. And our international friends are going all out at the mo with their choice of sunnies and specs. Oversized, coloured lenses, quirky frames, we’re seeing it all both overseas as you’ll see in a min, and here in Oz.
First it was florals then it was stripes, now the pattern ornamenting our garb is the Scottish- style check. But forget colourful kilts, the current go is dark and neutral while the designs range from wide lines to tiny houndstooth.
Filtering down from the runways of New York Fashion Week back in Feb, pink is now popping up in cities countrywide. It’s being worn head-to-toe, typically in dusty rose. And it’s not just girls that are rocking it.
